DESCRIPTIONDe Beauvoir published Sartre's letters in 1983 and when she was asked about her own letters to him, replied that they had been lost. After her death, her literary executor and adopted daughter Sylvie Le Bon de Beauvoir stumbled upon a parcel of faded letters, still in their envelopes addressed to "Monsieur Sartre."Completely uncensored, these letters are an inviting and revelatory window into the lives of the most important literary pairing of the twentieth-century.
CONDITIONIn a black cloth binding with gilt lettering to spine and an unclipped dustwrapper. Externally excellent. Minor shelfwear to the boards. Dustwrapper generally smart, with some handling marks and wear to the extremities. Internally firmly bound.
