Made in Germany it is dated 1855.
The lantern looks complete including the glass chimney, but I am not sure if all pieces are present. No dents or dings. Glass view intact, but needs to be cleaned. It stands on 4 brass color lion paw feet.
There are a number of slides in 2 sizes. The glass slides have fantastic coloring. No cracks.
There are 6 slides 7 inches long and 12 slides 8 5/8 inches ...long.
Smaller slides are in color depicting:
Children chasing butterflies, girls playing, man with hunting dog and boys flying kite
Travel showing different landscapes jungle, ocean, snow, Asia
Boys in parade drum major, boy with watering can using it as a horn, boy with lids using them as cymbals and boy with barrel as a drum
Race with men on rabbit bird, frog and chicken
3 men a manly looking woman
Children playing in the water: fishing, playing in stream, rowing boat and skinny dipping
Larger slides include:

Men in uniform trying to capture a tiger uses 2 slides to tell story

Instruction label on interior lid of box in 3 languages including English.
It comes in its original wood hinged box with Lanerna Magica label on the top showing a boy giving a lesson to a group of adults using a slide in the lantern. It has a swing hook closure.
Box shows wear commensurate with age, starting to pull away on back corners.
All in all an excellent piece.
