Very good clean cloth hardcover, bright gilt to spine, 5 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches, former owner’s signature on ffep, lacks the front free (blank) end paper, 519 clean pp., front end paper hinge sprung with nothing detached, 10-pp. publisher’s catalogue....
Johann Arndt (1555-1621), German Lutheran, considered to be the fore-runner of pietism. There is a good entry for him at wikipedia.
