Estate sale leftover. Vintage cricket bat, autographed by New Zealand and England players. Engraved with Laurie Fishlock and Alfred Jameson endorsements.It has 2 crests that say " COUNTY Sports Works St. Neots, Hunts". Selected Star emblem.Words I can make out are: Guaranteed Genuine S? X? Caerulea (?) Willow Hand Hammered And Pressed. Patent Handle No 242103. I have printed the information about this patent from 1925 by inventor Arthur Edwin Trimmings.
It is old and many... of the names have faded in to obscurity. Some of the names by county in the back are faded but can still be made out by the original pen/pencil indentation. I will include the old cricket ball found with this item at the estate. It's a very faded red and someone has hand written the following on it: 6/21 12-12-65It is 34.25 inches long and weighs 2lbs 2.2oz. There is NO DATE that I can find on the bat. I am not savvy on Cricket so am currently still researching this item. If you can share any knowledge you might have, I'd greatly appreciate it! I have many more pictures. Estate was pet and smoke free.
