about ninety that were published under the title La Comedie Humaine in 1841 and which were then
subdivid...ed into smaller groups of novels. The selections in this set are taken from Scenes From
Provincial Life, Scenes From City Life, Scenes From Political Life, Scenes From Military Life, Scenes
From Country Life, and Scenes From Private Life. Each book is illustrated with 16 engravings on wood from the Best
