An English Woman In A Turkish Harem, Grace Ellison, first Ed. 1915. This book is a real eye opener written by a British woman who spent time in Turkey prior to World War I. She describes the life of the Turkish people then, and particularly of the women. This is a great study in social history. I have photographed a few pages that really struck me as interesting philosophy. This woman was a fabulous writer. You won’t put this book down. She winds up in a French hospital during Christ...mas of World War I and her reminiscence is very touching. Gotta read it to get some insight in how the Mid East was before the west came in to make changes. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
