Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare Electro Voice 425 "deluxe" floor stand from the 1950's. This was the only floor stand ever produced by Electro Voice and made for just a few years before being discontinued. The 425 has a height range of 36 to 65 inches and comes with the quick release black button located on top of the stand. When the button is depressed it will lower or raise to the height desired. When the button is rel...eased the upper stem locks in place. This 425 was an ultra modern design for it's day and has an extra wide base at 17 inches across. The stand was light weight as well being only 7 1/2 pounds. Whats not seen in the photos provided is that once the stem is screwed on tightly the 3 legs lock into place. Once loosened the 3 legs will loosen at which point they can be folded together (as seen in pic # 11) making this stand much easier to stow away and move. Stem unscrews without issue and tightens just as it should. The 3 leg base is one piece and the legs will not come off unless unscrewed from the base. The 3 legs shows the most wear in the form of scratches and lite corrosion. The aluminum pieces with satin chrome finish shows typical lite wear. The two piece aluminum stem is plated with satin chrome as well and while both the stems look very nice you will see a very lite engraving in pic # 5. As you can see the three original pads on the bottom of the legs were missing so I applied 3 felt pads to make up the difference. Many times these break off due to use and old age. This stand was pretty well taken care of over the decades. If you are looking for something quite unique and very special for your old E.V mic or any mic for that matter...this could be the one. Stand is solid with zero issues. I would give this a solid 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. As with all my mics and accessories... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
