Includes recipes for Alligator Pears. That is what they used to call avocados!There are numerous recipes from bygone days when women spent more time in the kitchen than anywhere else. Plum gumbo, gooseberry catsup, lightning cake, Florodora Sauce, Cherry Moss, Snow Pudding, Deerfoot Potatoes, Rosebud Biscuits, English Monkey......This book has been used. It has a 2” tear in the left edge front cover, some fraying around some of the edges and old food splatters throughout the book, nothing that interferes with the legibility of the book. Delightful reading even if you don’t cook!
