Just want your amp working...I'll show you how clipping one wire may get your Sansui up and running. If a catastrophic failure of the audio-output has occurred, no problem. Having logged hundreds of hours on these great amps I've got you covered, tracing the component path that suffers when the output transistors are highly stressed or blown. When I say marginal....I'm referring to power-protectors that require longer than 10 seconds to latch the speaker protection relay, or the protector light keeps blinking. 1) Leave your amp in a cold place overnight. A cold garage, car...anywhere cold. Now try to get your amp's power-protector to latch. It will take a lot longer, if it even latches at all. 2) Conversely, put your amp in a very warm place for several hours. A hot sunny window, trunk of a car...anywhere warm. Now many of those marginal amps will latch much faster.As components age, they drift away from their specified values. This process causes otherwise perfect working electronics to act-up. This test changed your amp's component values temporarily, hopefully demonstrating the affects of component aging. ----------- END OF TEST ------------
