If you're looking for a great room centerpiece, a great book for your book pedestal, this is the one!
Check out the photos that I uploaded. This book looks really very nice and would be great on a book pedestal. I believe it's less likely that this book will be purchased for the immense amount of information within and more likely that it will be purchased as an interior decorating centerpiece type item.

Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 74-150152. If you search it on the Library of Congress website, search for '74150152' (without the hyphen) and it will come up.
It is simply a huge enormous English language dictionary. It is the largest dictionary I've ever seen and largest that I've ever held. The book is 5 inches thick! It weighs over 10 pounds! It has over 2000 pages. It is truly impressive!
This book has been protected for many years with some sort of quality plastic style book cover, clear over the front, back and binding areas. The cover is constructed to be tough and hold up but also so that the beauty of the book can be easily viewed. The cover is not perfect as the stitching on the back side of the cover is starting to come undone, but it is still overall in nice condition. If you do display this book either on a book pedestal or on a book shelf (if will look impressive & great there as well!), the issue with the book cover will not likely be noticeable.
The book itself is in great condition other than the binding which glue seems to have come undone (photos included), so I rate this as probably 'good' condition. However, the book cover is so durable that it is perfect for this book and reinforces it all nicely. A book of this size and weight can be damaged probably easily just based on how its handled, which the book cover helps protect. The pages also look great, but I am not going to review all 2000+ of them!
Actually, the last numbered page is 2017. Beyond that page number there are another 10 pages or so, pages of maps and another of measurements. As I mentioned, it's over 10 pounds and 5 inches thick. Measurements are 11.5 x 8.5 x 5 inches.
