This is a 13 inch Jacarnda wood, also known as Brazilian rosewood, tray. It is 5 inches wide in the center and tapers to 4 inches at each end. The edge is about 7/8ths if an inch above the tabletop. There is a paper label on the bottom that reads "WOOD ART /HANDMADE JACARANDA WOOD / DESIGN BY JEAN GILLON / INDUSTRIA BRASILEIRA/ C.S.C. 51.068.730" There is a stamped number in the center which might be "V205"
On the back the edges are rounded on the long sides and scooped out on the e...nds. Tha flat part that touches the table is about 10 1/2 inches long, a bit over 3 inches at the ends and 4 inches in the center.
The wood has a range of colors in it, averaging out to a rich reddish brown with black streaks. The lines are clean, but the handcarved surface has faint undulations. There are no dents or scratches and I don't think it has been refinished. The label is soiled but legible. Please contact me with any questions.
