For sale is a vintage Stanley bedrock No 605-1/2 C hand plane. The 605-1/2 size is what Chris Schwartz refers to as a super smoother and the size that David Charlesworth favors as the best all around size. This a type 6 bedrock manufactured between 1912 and 1921. This plane has a corrugated bottom and flat top sides and sports the iconic “V” logo. The condition of this plane is outstanding. The japanning is about 99% intact and all original. The rosewood tote and knob are also in g...reat shape; they are crack and chip free. there are no cracks or chips in the base. The ONE thing that detracts from the value is the hang hole drilled in the front of the base. This is why I’m selling the plane at a reduced price. If the hole wasn’t there, this plane would sell for about $100 more. The hole does not affect use whatsoever. This plane would make a fantastic user (the blade even has plenty of life left)! If you are actually going to use this plane and not just put it on a shelf to look at, take advantage of this opportunity and get yourself the best value user you can buy!
