Original Description:
The charm of this piece is in the naïve style of the carver. Probably originally from a large coffer the domed arched top would date it to the late 16th Century, and the sinuous curves on his cloke have echo's of the Gothic period. I love his legs poking out below. He appears to have a hallow  and holding a Bible so possibly representing Christ.French late 16th Century.Height 23 inches 58.5 cm width22.5 cm.Condition old worm in particular bottom left corner that has losses
