Vintage Rare DeForest of California Henny Hen Mid Century Modern Soup Tureen MCM
This auction is for a rare 1950's era DeForest of California pottery Henny Hen soup tureen with baby chick ladle. The hen & baby chick are so cute. They both have the sweetest faces. The glaze is shiny and has beautiful colors. This piece is special and in really good condition considering it's age. There is some crazing, but not too much. The bottom base is marked DeForest Cali USA. . This piece me...asures about 9 1/2" wide and is 9 1/2" high at the top of hen's comb and 13" long from the comb to the tail feather. The baby chick ladle is 10" long. It's heavy weighing 6 lbs. There is only one other Henny Hen soup tureen listed on Ebay for $485.00. I'm starting mine at low opening bid.
This would look great displayed on a kitchen curio cabinet or display shelf. Great addition to a pottery collection.
