Stunning 19th C. Continental Hand Painted Portrait Vase.

This auction is for a stunning 19th century European-Continent hand painted porcelain portrait vase. I am in the process of downsizing after many years of collecting and would like to pass these wonderful finds onto the eBay community. This is a traditional amphora-formed vase with brash handles and a graduating beaker style rim. This vase proudly displays a hand painted portrait of a lush meadow with grazing cattle and recumbent sheep on a tasteful green standard glazed ground, (...see pics). The cattle and sheep are being tended by a female figure relaxing on the knoll. In the background there is a castle-like structure, slightly obscured by the large and highly detailed trees. The portrait has many accents, as the painter seemed to be quite proud of her/his work. As I mentioned, the handles are very bold with scrolling and "moriage-inspired" beaded decoration. This bead accenting is shared at the rim, mid vase and base. Below the rim, there is a middle eastern inspired diamond and floral representation. This a respectable sized piece at 13" with very generous proportions. It is not signed, but be sure that it was made in Europe, possibly German/Austrian or maybe France. It has seen restoration in it's lifetime. One repair at the left handle, (as seen in picture 6). It is a very well executed repair and is quite sturdy. There is also an old repair at the rim area. That one is sturdy but not the best paint/glaze matching, (see pics). It still displays wonderfully! All in all a wonderful piece......one for the mantel!
