This is an amazing vintage 11-piece set of nesting dolls from the Soviet Union. This set is from my personal collection; I have owned it for about 25 years. The dolls are hand carved and painted and the set is complete - the smallest doll does not open. All dolls fit together nicely. You can see by the patina on the largest doll the age of this piece. The largest doll measures 7 1/2" tall. The smallest doll is the size of a tiny pebble. The dolls look to depict some kind of royalty, wi...th jeweled crowns and fancy robes. Stamp on the bottom of the largest doll says Made in the Soviet Union.
There is a small amount of wear on the largest doll due to the age of this piece. No cracks or chips in the other dolls.
I've never seen another set like this one.
