Large Vintage 1950's Tin Friction Starfire Jet Airplane -- Japan. Lots of nice lithographed details. Airplane reads, "FA-982 -- Starfire -- U.S. Air Force 0982 -- P&W J-48-P-5 -- USAF". Other lithographed details include pilots in the cockpit, stars and stripes, sheets of metal covering the exterior of the plane. The toy F94c has engine viewing transparent panels behind the cockpit where you ca...n see the Pratt & Whitney J48-P5 jet engine. F94c measures about 17" long and 18" across the wing span. Has play wear, some paint chips and rust here and there, yellowing on transparent panels, but overall fairly good condition. Friction movement does still work, though it doesn't carry it too far. Really neat looking vintage toy and nice display piece. "The Lockheed two-place F-94 was the first American all-weather jet interceptor. Seeing combat action in the Korean War. The F-94C was retired from USAF service in 1959.."
