Vintage Felt Wool Pennant "S.S. Ryndam Holland-America Line" Souvenir. This really is a souvenir from the boat that brought Eddie & Alex Van Halen to America! Built in 1951 The SS Ryndam was intended to be a freighter however post-war the ship was used for immigration from Europe to New York City and the Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In March 1962 Eddie and Alex Van Halen and parents came to the United States of American on this ship. I am not sure of the... age on this pennant. Lots of Immigrants came to America in the 1950's-1973 on this boat, perhaps even your family? This ship holds a lot of memories for many families.
