Just take a look at this fantastic early strung Vogue Ginny. She is from 1951 and is named MARGIE #28 which is part of the "Kindergarten Kiddies" Series. You can find pictures of Margie in the Izen/Stover book "Collectors Encyclopedia of Vogue Dolls" pink version on p. 87 and also in the B. Clark book "Colorful World of Ginny" on p. 54. Ginny is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or stains in her hard plastic. She looks to have been nicely restrung at one time probabl...y from a stretched out rubber band. Her face is just so endearing! She has had no retouches and all color is original. She has those wonderful fever cheeks and bright lips! Ginny's eyebrows and eyelashes are a nice brown color with no green or yellow. Her eyes are in an open position that you could manually close if you wanted to. The eye color is that fascinating transitional color of brown with red irises, sometimes called "rootbeer" color eyes. The original blonde paintbrush braids are shiny and pretty smooth, tied with pink ribbons to match the dress. Ginny is in her original outfit which is a pink waffle weave pique cotton dress with gathered cap sleeves and white woven band trim with pink flower design. It closes in back with a hook and eye. There is no tag which is typical of many outfits from 1951-52. She also has the matching bloomers, rayon socks and original center snap shoes which are in excellent condition. There are no stains, holes, or fading to the dress and the color is nice and pink. The waist of the bloomers was very relaxed so I ran a little elastic thread invisibly inside of just the back of the bloomers so they would stay up nicely. I've shown her on two different color backgrounds for you to see her true, gorgeous coloring! All together this is a superb example of an early Ginny that will grace you collection. Please take a look at all my other listings this week including a PE Ginny in box.
