Signed 901301 Engman at Base Kjell Engmans own Words about the Collection Well: These pieces are based on an old historical theme. In the 18th century, it was customary to dress dinner tables with porcelain figurines, intended to give the guests something to talk about, breaking the ice in dinner conversation. That's how I see my pieces, as table sculptures to use when dressing a table. Like so often before, I've chosen animal figures to symbolise various human traits, just as animals have done in all times, in all cultures - the cat's cunning, the horse's power, the antelope's speed, the bear's strength, the bull's potency and so on. This is why I've placed the animal heads on human torsos. The name, of course, comes from how one initiates a dinner conversation in English: "Well, ..."Seriously a great priceTHIS IS AN AMAZING PRICE ..
