Rare 1st edition, 2nd impression hardcover published by Jonathan Cape in 1953 (same year as first printing).
An ex-library copy, trimmed down and rebound in orange covers with Boots Booklovers Library stamped in green on front board. The book is solidly bound with excellent hinges. The only mark is on the title page, a small letter M stamped below the authors name (see photo), not sure if this is library related or no...t but there are no other stamps, no inscriptions. Internally the pages are generally clean and fresh with only occasional age spotting.
By no means a perfect example but a very scarce early example of this iconic James Bond title.
