PRETTY 1850s YOUNG LADYs ANTIQUE PINK GREEN WOOL CHECKERED DRESS
A rare colorful antique original 1850s pre Civil War dress is made from soft pink & green checkered wool. A very rare to find young teen dress from this era in such good condition. The entire dress is hand done. The simple yet sweet low-neck bodice has most fashionably fan-pleated front attached to the skirt by all hand cartridge pleating. Small pretty puffy sleeves epitome of the time. Both the neckline & sleeves are... cut in scallop design. Neckline, sleeves & waist are decorated with cream color ribbon(see pic). The armcyes & neckline are piped. The bodice has mother of pearl buttons on the shoulders & it opens at the back with brass hooks/eyes & Matching mother of pearl buttons. The skirt attached to the waist band with cartridge pleating. The dress is in very good most presentable condition with NO holes or tears. it is quite worthy of a museum or would display well on a dress form in your home to admire her beauty. Bodice measurements: Bust 34” bust, 23” waist, 16 1/2” Across shoulders, 8” long sleeves & measures 35” in length. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
