Canon IIF Rangefinder “E-P” Camera – CLA’d and nearly Mint This Canon IIF “E-P” rangefinder camera is offered for sale at a very reasonable price. This model was a significant development in the Canon line of rangefinder models made by Canon from 1953 through 1955. There were fewer than 12, 000 cameras produced over this two year period of time. As compared to a Leica, it has a much improved viewing and focus system that offers three levels of magnifi...cation for easier focusing. The rangefinder optics are very clean with a well-defined and accurate rangefinder patch. The shutter curtains are in outstanding condition. The camera has been cleaned and lubricated and all shutter speeds appear to be accurate and within tolerance, including the slow speeds. The vulcanite cover is excellent with no chips or cracks. The chrome surfaces as seen in the pictures are a fine example of a nearly mint Canon body that has been cared for over the past 65 years. The interior is clean and includes the film spool. The camera accepts all Leica thread lenses as well as the Canons and other M39 screw mounts of the period.As this is a vintage camera anything that is of this era could ultimately go wrong. It will make a wonderful display example in a collection or used to capture photographic images on film. Please refer to the photographs as they represent the exterior condition of the camera.
