Exquisite Antique 19th century Webb Petit Cameo Glass Individual Posy VaseUnmistakably, this is a piece of late 19th Century Webb Cameo glass; unsigned but it doesn’t need to be. All the skill, technique and design features scream Thomas Webb in the style used in the 1890s.It is a small petit handblown spherical vase of two layers; an inner layer of milk glass and a pink casing. The pink has been etched carved to present a sprig of blossom. This has three flowers flanked by leaves t...o either side. It has a polished pontil.Its size would lead us to believe that it was a small vase intended for a breakfast tray or a lady’s writing desk. It certainly will be a lovely asset to a collection of Webb or similar cameo glass.It is in excellent antique condition; there is a small manufacturing tight crack to the inner lip. It is very smooth to the touch; it was most likely missed during manufacture and only obvious after some years of discolouration.
