These dolls are from my personal collection of nesting dolls.
This is the Japanese Warrior doll set. These fierce warriors are elaborately painted with great detail. The beards are black and most of the outlining is also black. Other muted colors are used in shades of red, silver, blue, yellow, and green.
This set is depicted in the Lefkovitz Guide to Nesting Dolls book on page 100. The author's photo shows just 3 dolls in that set. The set I am listing is a complete set of... all 7 dolls. This is an authentic, antique piece in fantastic condition. Incredibly rare!
The smallest doll in this set does not open. All of the dolls except for the largest one have the word "precious" and "1908" written on the bottom. Incredible patina and very little damage, especially due to their age. No cracks in any of the dolls.
