This amusing antique wood and felt toy Spark Plug horse is about 9 1/2" long x 6 1/2" tall and it was made by the Schoenhut Co.(Philadelphia, Pa.) The horse is sturdy and well formed with good detail and he has jointed legs and neck and he is wearing a 'patched' felt blanket. Spark Plug is famous as a character from the Barney Google comic strip and he became the advertising icon for the A.C. Spark Plug Co. in the 1920s. There is a little wear and he has a repaired leg(not visibl...e) but over all the toy horse is in excellent original condition. Ca. 1920s. Very unusual!
