An exquisite and unusual clutch bag from France. The front has a an engraved panel - believed to be celluloid or possibly Bakelite - with a finely engraved scene depicting two lovers on a park bench. This has been nailed to the black leather bag.
The clutch has an adjustable strap and a peacock blue silk lining and inner pockets.
There is some fading to t...he silk lining and noticeable wear on the strap. There are some marks on the celluloid panel. Otherwise the clutch is in a very good condition for its age.
This clutch was purchased from an antique dealer who acquired it in the south of France.
