This listing is for red beryl crystal in rhyolite matrix from the Thomas Mountain Range located in the western deserts of Utah. Also known as "red emeralds" and "bixbites, " red beryls are incredibly rare and can fetch astronomical prices depending on weight and quality. A neat thing about this specimen is that it can sit up nicely, without any support, to make for a great display piece. The specimen weighs roughly 2.6 ounces and measures about 2.85 by 2.55 by 1.5 inches... in size. The red beryl is about 2.5 millimeters long. A nice pseudobrookite growth can be found in the vug that is right next to the red beryl. Sparkling quartz crystals can also be found inside many of the vugs. It is a bit fragile so care does need to be taken in handling it. Please have a look at the pictures posted for this listing. They are unedited and do a great job of showing what the specimen looks like. The specimen will ship within one business day of payment being received.
