The Preface by P.C.B.Newington tells how the idea for this cook book came into being during the period he was interned in Changi Criminal Prison and Sime Road Camp, Singapore, by the Japanese from Feb 1942 up to his date of release in August 1945.
The book has a green cloth spine and hard boards.The front board is ...illustrated by Beryl Irvine.There is some staining and wear to the boards, but considering age and 'travels' of this book, it is in good condition.It has 160 pages which include an Index to the Recipes at the back of the book.
