This auction is for a Vintage Prewar Lionel Standard Gauge No.390-E Blue Comet Steam Engine and No.390-T Tender.It was made in 1929.It is in Very Good condition. It is complete and it is original except for the die-cast wheels on the engine that have been replaced with reproduction replacement wheels and the white flags at the front of the boiler are reproduction replacement flags. There are some small nicks that have been touch up on side-2 of the tender that you have to look clo...se to see.The blue paint around the raised lettering at the front of the tender has been touched up and there is an area on side-1 of the engine above the cab window at the edge of the roof that has been touched up.All the touch ups are very old and you have to look close to detect them.The die-cast engine frame is very slightly bowed but this is common with this engine and the frame is solid. It has a Bild-A-Loco motor and it has been tested and it runs and tracks great and the pendulum type E-unit works and the headlight works.This engine runs great and displays well.It is all metal and it measures 23" long with the tender attached.
