Vintage Semca 8 Eight Day Swiss 7 Jewels Partners Clock Swiss Brass Double Dial
Item History & Price
Up for bid and for your consideration is this excellent vintage Semca partners clock It is an eight day clock.
This clock would be a wonderful addition to your classic vintage office decor or a nice addition to any clock collection!
Here are the details:
The clock measures about 5-1/4 inches tall, 4-3/4 inches wide at the feet and about 2-1/4 inches deep.
The dial i...s a matte silver color and the numbers are represented by raised, gold colored, Art Deco style, Arabic numbers. On one side the eight has been re-glued on. You can see the glue at the edges of the eight, but It does not show well in the photos.
The hands are gold colored. The hour hand is just a simple straight hand, the hour hand has spiral flourishes near the number end, very delicate looking!
It is marked "Semca" under the 12 position, "8" in a triangular shape and "7 Jewels" over the 6 position. It is also marked "Swiss" near the bottom of the face under the six.
The winder and set knob is the same knob and is present, you wind the clock by simply turning the knob and set the time by pulling the knob out slightly then turning it. There is also a fast/slow adjustment via a slider. All on the bottom of the clock.
The clock does not run, if you rock it back and forth it will tick for a few seconds, but then stop. It is wound tight.
Other markings on the bottom of the clock include the numbers 12 323. I don't know what these numbers represent, maybe a serial or model number.
This is a heavy clock for its size, mounted in a square brass case, which sits on four ringed teardrop shaped feet. The brass could use a good polishing and would shine beautifully. The top of the case shows many scratches which I think will take a bit of buffing to get out or minimalize. The sides and frame around the dial are in much better condition, showing normal wear for its age.
This clock would make a great addition to your high end clock collection or just as a great accessory to an executive desk! Maybe you know someone who would enjoy this as a gift? Why not bid now?!
