VIRGINIA TOMAHAWK WITHTIGER STRIPED MAPLE HANDLEThis very fine quality& very nice condition Virginia tomahawk with a very rare tiger stripedmaple handle came out of a large collection of Virginia artifacts It is 14 7/8” at thetiger striped maple h...andle with a round poll 4 7/16” iron head with a 1 15/16”cutting edge & a flat hammer back. Tiger striped maple wood handled tomahawks are quite rare & are very seldom seenat antique or militeria shows. Several tomahawks headslike this one have been dug in the Shenandoah Valley area in Virginia &West Virginia (which was part of Virginia in the 1700’s) in RevolutionaryWar battle & camp sites. It is in good conditionwith the head having light to light/medium pitting &has a dark brownpatina. Thetiger striped wood handle is in good condition without any cracks or gouges. It came out of a large Virginia collection of artifacts collected for over 50 +years & comes with a certificate of authenticity.
