Vintage Pullman Railroad Car #8 Blanket by North Star Blankets.
This vintage blanket is in excellent condition. There are no stains or rips. It looks great!!
The blanket is the typical salmon color and measures approximately 58 inches by 89 inches.
There is a North Star tag on each end of the blanket. There is one slight thread issue on the opposite side of one of the tags. (See the 6th picture.) Also, there is a slight thread separation at one corn...er which pictures 7 and 8 show both sides of. Otherwise, all of the threading along the hems is in excellent condition.
According to internet sources, there is some speculation as to how to determine the age of these blankets. One source indicated that a blanket like this one with a "4" on it meant it was manufactured in 1939. If that is correct, then this blanket with an "8" on it would mean it was manufactured in 1943. I cannot confirm this information but it seems reasonable.
