For sale is an antique Lady’s Companion Etui. Itmeasures approx. 3 ½” x 2 ½”. The container opens with a metal buttonclasp/lock at one end and hinge on the other. Embossed on one side of theleather case is ‘Lady’s Companion’. Inside the box is red compartments.Contained in this set are two pull-out sleeves which have thread on spools withanother spool like item (I do not know what it is) and velvet tops on both; oneshaped to accommodate the thimble.... In another sleeve is a glass jar with metaltop. In other thinner sleeves are a petite comp which is broken at one end, anda mirror. On the back of the mirror is written in fading pencil: ‘MinervaTourensend No. 2/Nonon Street Poughkeepsie, NY’ At least, that’s what I can make out. The box is worn around theedges – please take a good look at the pictures I’ve included to determinecondition. The inside of the top is lined with red silk and a velvet border.There are round sleeves. I believe it’s missing scissors because there is aslot that looks like it would accommodate a small pair. I’ve been listing Mom’s items for some time now. She’sallowed me to sell many things to first, get through college, and now to repaygrad school bills.
