Here is a vintage Calrad Dual Element Crystal microphone body (badged as Argornne A57) that has been repurposed. The old crystal elements were worn out and so they have been replaced with a ribbon motor and transformer of contempary Chinese manufacture. This produces a fantastic 'RCA style' passive ribbon mic. Which is what these Calrads where trying to copy originally!
The body is in excellent vintage condition for a 55+ year old. With some slight scuffs and scrapes! It comes suppl...ied with a non-original hard case.As with most passive ribbon mics it will benifit from a good pre-amp in the signal chain to bring out its best.The table stand is not included in the sale.
