A very rare and special machine with an artistically sculpted copper shield. This model came on the market in 1895. Behind the keyboard it says, “Manufactured by Columbia TypeWriter Mfg. Co., New York, NY USA.”I cannot locate the serial number; if you can tell me where to look, I will.Everything appears to be original. There is no wooden bottom on the typewriter, and a few screws are missing. All of the keys and other parts seem to be there, but I am not a typewriter expert.&...nbsp;The keys will strike downward to the platen, but most will not return by themselves to their original position. The carriage moves when engaging the carriage lever, but the carriage does not advance when striking a key or the space bar. Because of its age and rarity, this typewriter is being sold as-is.
