These boots are experimental cold weather combat boots and also ski boots from the 1980s. They are size 9 Wide made by ro search. They are gortex lined and water proof. They are in brand new unused condition with minor storage wear. Ive seen one other pair of these boots on the internet before. They are extremely rare and likely to never be found on ebay again.Please don't be intimidated by the asking price. Make an offer of what you would be willing to pay if interested. There's no pr...ecident for what they are worth. Supply is almost non existent but I have no idea wht the demand is. During the late 1970s the Army set out to create new combat boots that could be put on and taken off faster than previous boots. A slew of designs from Natick labs were tested. Most of them brown leather boots because black leather was easier to detect on infra red. One of the results of these tests was the speed lace system which feature on these boots and all future military issue boots. These boots are one of those experimental sets. They made it further than some of their other experimental counter parts being issues to actual units in serious training environments. Most notably, Marine Recon and the Army Rangers. They boots were field trialed in Norway in the 80s. After all the successful, and unsuccessful, tests of various designs the Army chose black boots again anyway so the brass could admire their soldiers spit shined boots apparently. These boots are a part of US military history from the major transition era that is the Regan era. Finding information on them is difficult so if you have any Id be happy to see it. Would also except a trade for one of the other types of experimental boots in size 9.5 wide in similar condition. If these boots were half a size bigger I'd probably just keep them for myself. They are very nice boots and I bet the Panama sole is awesome in the snow.
