Up for sale is this rare antique 1884 leather bound 1st edition copy of Maxwell's, "History of Tucker County, West Virginia: From the Earliest Explorations and Settlements to the Present Time." The book is overall in good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild scuffing and wear with a little bit of corner wear and edge wear. The binding of the book is good and sound. There is some soiling to the endpapers. All of t...he page edges are gold gilt. The pages are lightly toned from age but are fairly clean with some scattered light foxing, grubbiness, or soiling. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of minor imperfection such a minor stain or marking, a small chip or tear, wrinkle, creased page corner, minor interior crack, etc. Generally, it's a nice copy.
