This vintage Al Mar Knife is just out of long-term storage and is perfect for the serious collector.
We were sales reps. for the Mar's in 11 Western states for approximately 12 years.
Here's a very nice #4004 Shugoto I fixed blade from the 1980's Tanken Series.
It is essentially a brand new 30-year old knife that was never carried, used, sharpened, or sold at retail.
It features a sweeping, elegant 7" hollow ground blade design in satin finished AM-6... stainless
OAL is 11 3/8"
Brass guard and checkered Zytel handle.
Note that this is the improved 2nd Generation version of the knife with the brass and stainless spacers to lengthen the handle.
These were made for only about 2 years before they were discontinued in about 1989
Check out the blade spine that has been beveled like a sword on the beefy 3/16" blade stock
No sheath or boxes as this was an office display piece.
Very slight misalignment of the handle and spacers, but the nearly perfect blade finish more than compensates on this attractive piece.
