Pioneer SwordAntique and rare military style ‘Pioneer’ sword with a heavy 15.75” spear point blade withsawback and fullers. 21.25” long overallwith two-piece wood handle with brass ferrule, rivets and guard. In original leather and brass scabbard. Resembles an ancientRoman military gladius sword. There are no visible markings on sword or scabbard. Don't know country of origin or any other info. A thorough search ...on the web failed to find another example. Possibly a prototype. Very old....appears to be about circa early to mid-1800's. In very goodantique condition. Straight and tight.
