This beautiful old solid and heavy brass mortar and pestle is of a generic form seen in Apothecays in England, in Europe and many other parts of the world and certainly this handled form of mortar is fundamentally useful and universally loved world over! These are just as useful today in the kitchen and this one's a perfect size for domestic home use- and complete with its original brass pestle.A beautifully aged and wizened patina with nicks and knocks and bumps however nothing to ge...nuinely detract.The mortar stands approx 10cm in height the rim is 11cm the span across the handles is 13cm the pestle is 17.5cm approx.
