This fabulous "Atlas B" sewing machine was manufactured in Braunschweig, Germany by "Grimme Natalis & Co.".The central logo has "B, Manufactured for the Atlas Co. in Brunswick", this is the English name for Braunschweig.The machine has retained much of its' original gilt work, to the bed, balance wheel cover, needle plate and superb casting on the base. It has worn around the arm where the machine has been picked up over the years.The black japanning has only minor wear, mainly, to th...e bed on the edges. The casting to the legs, arms and base are still crisp and clean and there are no chips or cracks.The exposed metal work does show signs of surface rust blemishes in places.The shuttle and bobbin are present.The serial number is "200836"The wooden handle is well attached and the machine does turn with a good action.
