One (1) Matchbox Lesney Quarry Truck 6 a1; orange cab and chassis, grey tipper, golden trim; 11 x 18 metal wheels, flat and crimped axle ends, A type body with thin front axle gap between axle and brace, and curved braces behind radiator; A type tipper with cross brace underneath, B type h...alf round under tipper cross brace with ejector ring in the centre variation. Stannard catalogue casting code 1 of 7. This model is in near to very near mint condition. It was introduced in 1954 and was sold in this type and a rare, late issue grey plastic wheels variation (Mack). It is approximately 55 mm in overall length. Please carefully examine the high definition photos for thefine, nearly flawless original paintwork detail. The tipper works as it should and is connected to the body with tipper ring and chassis pin pivot arrangement. NOTE one tipper ring is miscast but does not affect its function. Take care with it. The metal wheels are in perfect working condition and show no wear from use. This early Euclid Quarry Truck will display as new. They are constructed of correct weight tag board. They are laser printed so they will be somewhat glossier than an original Lesney era box, which was printed with lithography. 2. Grading:VNM = Very Near Mint. The paintwork is, for all practical purposes, close to new. Original factory flaws will be noted in the listing if they exist. All original accessories are present.
NM = Near Mint. Restoration unnecessary. The paintwork is nearly perfect, clean, shiny and bright on all exterior surfaces (except for possibly the base, if painted). Original, virgin paintwork approaches 100% with the possible exception of any factory paint flaws, very minor spot paint work restoration, or very minor storage (not impact) wear. Negligible rolling use of the wheels may be present. The model is mechanically perfect. All original appliques and accessories are present.
EXC = Excellent. Minor paintwork and/or applique imperfections may exist, usually due to improper storage, not play, and will be evident in the photos. Paintwork imperfections may have been restored. Decals or other appliques may have been replaced with replicas. For this grade, no mechanical problems exist, including windows, if applicable, and no such repairs have ever been performed, in our opinion. Minor wheel use may be evident.
