This letter was written while Lt. Wittman was in training at Camp Hospital Breckinridge Kentucky, dated: May 11 1943. The letter has a engraved US Insignia letterhead.
There is great content in this letter about her frustration with her Ward and she writes about having a New York Hair sty...list patient who is going to give her a new hairdo.
She writes:
"I'll be glamour girl No 1 of Camp Breckinridge" The patient has told her that he has done hair styling for movie stars.
Lt. Wittman was very active overseas in both North Africa and Italy and received battle stars for Naples Foggia and Rome Arno.
Along with this letter I will also include the two recently printed photos ofLT. DOROTHY M. WHITMAN and a copy of a 1943 newspaper article announcing her enlisting in the Woman's Army Corps (WAC).
