Most whale oil lamps date from theheight of the whaling industry from about 1820-1850.  The lamp has a double wick screw on cap.Multi bulbous design body. Sits on a round saucer base with round finger hold.Nice light gray patina. A truly classic piece of history.This piece is in verygood condition. It does have a soldier repair on the base (see photographs). Thereis some mi...nor denting and bending but what do you expect on an old piece thathas seen a lot of use.
