ANTIQUE LEATHER BELT WITH CARTRIDGE BOX MARKED F A SNIFFEN US ORD DEPT / NO BUCKLE This eBay listing is for an antique black leather belt with black leather pouch that is marked on the front: F A Sniffen US Ord Dept Sub Inspector. I opened this up and there was another flap inside this that reads: R. NECE PHILAD. Inside is a wool type of material with a small belt lopped rod that I think they call a pick. The belt, which is MIS...SING any type of buckle, isn't marked anywhere. Where the buckle should be - it has snaps so its easy to put a buckle in its place if you wished. The total length of the belt is 36" long end to end. I tried to google this name and its cominig back as a cartridge box company from the late 1800's and used during the Civil War and Indian Wars time period.
