Up for auction is a interesting old vintage late 1800s American made "D E Warner" 2 pc. back full size violin for restoration. The 2 pc shaded maple back measures 14 5/16 by 8 1/2 inches. The violin is lined and has 4 corner blocks. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin and the neck is solid. The scroll and the pegbox are in good condition. The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard looks to have a small scratch/hairline on the nut end (please check pics) otherwise it ...is in good condition. There is no soundpost and there is a open seam on the upper treble rib (please check pics). Handwritten in pencil on the inside upper treble back is "D. E. Warner Albion NY Feb 14 1891" and is also signed "D. E. Warner" on the upper bass side inside back. It has has a label that reads "Spiritose Con Spiriti(?)" and initialed "D.E.W. 1891". The violin is for restoration. The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The top of the violin looks to be a handmade replacement for the original (please check pics). The top will need a repair on the bass side mid F hole area (please check pics).
