For sale is this awesome old ring from Egypt. It is made out of faience. This is a type of Egyptian clay made of quartz by my understanding. Frequently it was glazed, but not always. It is commonly blue in tint or color. This piece has a very light tint left. These would have been carved out of the clay, and then baked to harden them. This one is a beautiful piece with excellent detail! It was likely used to worship a god or pharaoh. It has a common Egyptian style to it. It is very fra...gile and will be packaged accordingly! This particular piece looks to be more intricate than some of the other pieces I’ve seen. The detail, seems to be greater than what is left after aging on most other surviving pieces. I also expected some glaze to be left in the deep cracks, but there wasn’t any. This ring looks to be a perfect ring shape, which would have been difficult to carve in ancient days. Because of these things, I feel like this piece is a replica that was made for a museum somewhere or something similar. It is very high quality and still may have a little age on it, I just don’t think that it is ancient! This is a museum quality piece!! It looks awesome. It comes as you see it in the photo!
