Lovely Art Nouveau H/marked Sterling Silver Christening Mug Birmingham 1911 93g This is lovely christening mug hallmarked Birmingham 1911; maker’s marks “HT & S” for Hammond, Turner & Sons. The marks are hard to spot as they are mingled with the engraved pattern; once you know they are there they’re not hard to interpret. The silver christening is slightly bell shaped with a low foot and a “D” handle. It is etched with art nouveau floral flags that frame four panels around... its body. The top margin has a band of art nouveau floral motifs alternating with a geometric design. The leading panel is engraved “Mattie” in an Old English style font. It is in excellent vintage condition; just a little aging wear and a small impact dint near the top of the handle and one on the rim; neither detract.
