Vintage Sherwood Model S-360 36-Watt Mono Vacuum Tube Power Amplifier, Circa 1960.
It uses 4 x 7189 power tubes (RCA), 1 x 12AX7/ECC-83 phase inverter (Mullard), and 1 x 5AR4/GZ-34 rectifier tube.
It appears to be in original condition, with no obvious signs of modification, component replacement, or damage. It shows normal wear consistent with its 59+ year age, with spots of minor corrosion on the chassis deck, and the cage/cover interior.
The "SHERWOOD" decal is ...mostly gone from the cage as shown in the photos.
This amplifier was powered-on with a variac, and with a sine wave applied did 17VAC into an 8-ohm load, producing 36 watts at clipping.With an input voltage of 118VAC, the B+ voltage at the rectifier was 430VDC, with 422VDC on the plates of the power tubes.
